John Grisdale, a defenceman in the NHL for 6 seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks, is among a trio of Builders to be inducted into the BC Hockey Hall of Fame. Grisdale played 4 seasons on an NCAA scholarship at Michigan Tech before joining the professional ranks.
In 2003, the BCHL hired Grisdale as its Commissioner. Under his leadership, the BCHL established a presence on the internet and introduced audio and video broadcasting of BCHL games. The BCHL has also produced an exceptional list of NHL players and RBC Cup Championship teams. Grisdale is proud of the fact, the BCHL sends an average of 100 players to the NCAA and CIS on scholarships. Under the guidance of Grisdale, the BCHL is considered the premiere Junior A league in Canada.
