Pat O’Neill, longtime NHL trainer with the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets is also among the 2016 Inductees. O’Neill was raised in Victoria and worked at the family sporting goods store. He was Equipment Manager of the Winnipeg Jets for 8 seasons before joining the Canuck in 1988. Pat’s first season in Vancouver was Trevor Linden’s rookie season. He has “worked” more than 2,600 NHL games, including two All-Star Games. O’Neill has been called upon several times by Hockey Canada to join Canada at the Olympics, World Championships and the World Cup. He was a member of the Canada Olympic Gold Medal Team in 2010.
