Induction Year: 2020
Ray Stonehouse has been involved in Junior B hockey for 40 years and is currently the president of the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL). He started with the league in 1980 when it was called the West Coast Junior Hockey League.
During the time Ray Stonehouse has been involved, he has seen many changes in the league, from a name change, to losing/relocating teams and adding franchises. The league eventually expanded to 10 teams and converted to a two-conference system. Today, the league is comprised of 12 teams.
Ray Stonehouse owned the PJHL Ridge Meadows Flames for 25 years, before selling the team in 2005. As owner, the Flames were the first to engage a Disc Jockey and a singer to sing the National Anthem at their games. His teams were successful, taking gold, silver, and bronze at the Keystone Cup Western Canadian Championships. Then there were 3 seasons when his teams won the league.
Stonehouse has been an integral part of the success of Junior B Hockey in British Columbia, and he is also the owner of Great Canadian Sportscard Company in Port Moody, BC.
